Shooting Range Report for my Rock River Arms PDS Pistol HomeThis is a featured page

Yesterday a made an impromptu trip to the area firearm shooting range along with my spanking new Rock River Arms PDS pistol. My PDS pistol system offers the all new Tri-Rail Handguard fairly recently unveiled in 2011. My Rock River Arms PDS Pistol features a 8" 1:9 barrel plus I'll be utilizing the 62 grain ammunition I conveniently had available in my small ammunition dump.

The PDS by Rock River Arms just isn't your old school gas impingement AR-15, instead its Piston Driven. Which means there isn't any gas to return in to the upper receiver. As a consequence of the piston procedure, the PDS works cleaner and cooler than a old school AR15.

Actually magnificent as well as a little terrifying, the PDS pistol is definitely short bundle crammed complete with power plus the overall firearm weighs in at around 7 lbs.

The barrel is a 8" long Chrome-Moly accompanied by a 1:9 Twist rate. I most definitely like the 1:9 twist rate given it wears much better than 1:7, is more accurate which enable it to cope with a broad collection of ammunition.

Since my trip to the range was basically unplanned and I showed up slightly past due in the day, the neighborhood range was completely full. I squeezed a seat within the 50 yard target location.

I had an extra red dot from Aimpoint within my gear and got it attached up. Soon after about an hour or so of adjusting and running my mouth together with many other shooters I was able to get right down to finding out about what this baby could possibly do.

On the 50 yard range using 62 grain ammo I was able to realize 2" groups. That's pretty good taking into consideration the ammunition I was working with. Unluckily, I was running out of time and daylight not to mention had no different ammunition types in order to test with… most likely next time.

In examining the target, there were no key holes of which pointed out certainly that bullet stabilization appeared to be very good. I did discover a little rubbing inside upper receiver from the cam vicinity. This did not worry me for the reason that pistons will probably wear, though merely in the beginning. I did come with an option regarding the wear dilemma and new just the trick to mend the issue. I'm not really a new comer to piston rifles and a product from POF-USA known as the Roller Cam will give the relief needed to the ultimate no wear remedy for the cam.

It's getting late and that's all I have for at this time. I hope this range report supplied help in determining ammo specifications and capability of the PDS Pistol. I bought my Rock River Arms PDS pistol online with PDS Pistol Dealer, the biggest dealer of Rock River Arms in the U.S.. I realize the reason they're the biggest dealer in the States, Class 3 Weapons offered the best price, shipment were reasonable and moreover NO SALES TAX due to the fact I was out of state. Sweet! Class 3 Weapons shipped to my area dealer straight away. My neighborhood dealer carried out my background check and I took delivery. It was just that straightforward.
